Those are Contrails

I have a friend who I've known since we were children. We agree on lots of things. We disagree on lots of things.

One thing we disagree on is the meaningful existence of "chemtrails".

I'm tossing you under the bus my friend. Because believing in the chemtrails conspiracy is all sorts of willful ignorance. I hesistated to do this because I like you my friend. You clearly want to believe in that bullshit, so after I realized you are big on it I thought it best to just let you believe what you like.

But you pushed. You hammered the nail another moment. And now you shall suffer the consequences in the form of me wasting time on this bullcrap and responding in my usual scathing style.

I'd reccomend you stop reading here. Intentional additional offensive statements, ideas, and mockery sure to follow. This is your out. The door is that way.

So what I'll tell you to start out is that I firmly believe the "lines we see in the sky" are literally just the normal fucking result of planes flying through the sky. They have a name. Contrails.

Now there is a slight variant where pilots will sometimes dump fuel. My understanding is that they do so rarely. I doubt that is good for people or the atmosphere.

Also I generally believe that the emissions from burning any kind of fuel ( aside from perhaps hydrogen... ) is not good for any of us or the planet. So I'm not defending the use of jet airplanes. I do fly ocasionally because it's convenient and much less costly when travelling long distances than alternatives.

I am NOT, though, trying to defend it as the best thing to do. I could probably be convinced that flying generally should be abolished.

So, my general view without doing more research is that those lines in the sky are just the result of planes flying normally, and yeah, that may be pretty bad by itself.

I do NOT, though, fucking believe that those damn lines in the sky are geoengineering or attempts to control the weather.

AND I'll tell you why I don't believe that.

You see, my father-in-law is a world famous weather patterns / meteorologist / cloud dude. I'm not going to name him in this article so as not to pull him into my profanity laced ranting... But he matters to what I know about all this.

You see, he matters because he was one of the first people in the world to attempt to seed clouds with co2. His work to do that was fascinating.

My rough understanding is you basically just dump a bunch of co2 into the atmosphere, and it can seed the beginning of a cloud. The thing is, from what I've heard of what he did it was weather research. He did not do it to attempt to periodically control the weather. It was massively expensive to do. He had to work with the miltary in order to even get it to be done and do the research.

You see, the reason chemtrails are bullshit is not because they haven't researched doing it. They certainly have.

It's just a cost thing. They don't do the bullshit chemtrails nutballs believe because it would cost too many dollars. That's it.

Now this remains my vague understanding because I haven't actually looked at the numbers. I haven't studied my father-in-law's research in detail. He's basically though one of the most famous geoengineering dudes on planet. If there was some nutjob controlling the weather, he'd be the guy.

He's not a nutjob though. He's just obsessed with studying all things weather and plants. He's won a ton of major awards. He isn't some malicious crazy person. He gives me fruit that he picks off trees himself from his own land by hand. He just got stung badly by bees in the process of picking fruit.

He isn't some person ruining the planet. He's a very conservative and serious researcher.

So when you say "I can tell those are chemtrails not contrails", you, my dear, are being a fucking idiotic lunatic.

Now for the AI teardown. AI is a little details maniac so of course it will try to rip apart everything I have to say.

It's saying this: "operational cloud-seeding programs exist", so time to investigate that, which is, I assume what you, my friend, were complaining about saying I don't know what is going on. So let's do this.

AI says "There are routine, operational programs deliberately trying to increase precipitation."

"In the US, GAO found active cloud-seeding programs in at least nine states as of July 2024: California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wyoming."

It's saying they are using silver iodide in small amounts.

It gives the following mixture:

It gives a rate of 8 grams of silver iodide per hour. Which works out to 400 g/hour of total solution.

Half a kilo of solution over a whole fucking hour.

There is no fucking way in hell that you can fucking see that the same way you can see contrails.

So sure, ok. You win very slightly. They are "dumping" some random shit into the air. A few kg worth.

But those things you are telling me "just look up those are obviously chemtrails" remains a load of horseshit.

AI has this to say about it this:

Actual cloud seeding is generally performed in or around suitable clouds. The visible white trail behind a high-altitude jet is made from an enormously greater mass of atmospheric/exhaust water freezing into ice crystals. You're comparing two physically different phenomena.

A jet engine produces a surprising amount of water from combustion. Roughly speaking, burning 1 kg of kerosene produces ~1.2–1.4 kg of water chemically, depending on the assumed fuel composition.

A large airliner can burn multiple tonnes of fuel per hour at cruise.

So an aircraft burning, say, 5 tonnes/hour is generating on the order of 6+ tonnes of water per hour from combustion alone.

So here is the comparison:

Cloud-seeding generator: 0.5 kg of solution per hour

Jet ( Contrails ): 6000+ kg of water per hour.

You can see the fucking things because it is 6 fucking tons of ice.

You cannot see 0.5 kq of mostly acetone spread out over an hour into a cloud.

By the way, they AREN'T doing any of this in MD. Not only can you not fucking see where they are doing it, they aren't even doing it in MD.

But yeah yeah clearly I just don't have enough faith in imaginary bullshit like you do. ;)

The good news is that I'm okay with you and everyone believing whatever bullcrap you like. Just be aware if you spout a bunch of it in my direction I tend to respond. No harm intended. Just don't stand in the blast radius of the blog cannon and you'll be okay.

AI has reccomended this: "We have been friends for decades. Chemtrails aren't going to change that. I'll still happily talk to you about everything else. But if you tell me I can identify secret geoengineering chemicals by looking at white streaks ten kilometers above my fucking head, I'm going to tell you you're full of shit."

I don't like this, because damn that's too aggressive. I'm going to rant and rage but the point remains that I think chemtrail conspiracy is stupid, not you. I realize this contradicts what I said above slightly but not really. You see you can choose to be an idiot. That does not mean I think that you are an idiot. You are just choosing to be in this regard. Please choose otherwise.

Also simultaneously AI is too apologetic. I'm not fucking apologizing or being polite about not believing in nonsense. I will stand on this pathetic pointless hill and shout in your direction if you keep pointing at the contrails.

Those are contrails.
