Obey the law you bastards
I used to think that the important thing is to do what is moral and right regardless of what the law says.I used to be in support of breaking the law when the law is wrong.
I'm not any more. Fuck that. You who enjoy getting your lives fucked, go ahead. I'm not stopping you from pursuing your dreams of breaking the law for good. That's not my job. That's the job of the police or some government agency.
What happened? Why have I changed my tune?
Well there was the whole big event that happened with me and fucked over my career where I did what I believe to be right, and it just got me into a heap of trouble. I still think I did the "right thing." But that's not enough for me.
See, I want my life to be pleasant and my career not to be fucked over because governments are corrupt. And oh let me tell you, like 99.99% of governments are corrupt. So guess what? They are doing immoral shit. Fighting them puts you at odds with the government.
You dislike this you say? You wish I remained the hero and kept fighting the corruption? Well then why didn't you support me when I was doing that?
You see, being the hero ain't fucking worth it.
I believe in obeying the law now. Even the stupid shitty ones. Why? It's just less fucking hassle. I'm sick of being thought of as "that shady guy we know that doesn't honor the law." I'm not shady. I'm very logical. I've always tried to do what is right.
And now, that means I'm just going to obey all the dumbass laws, because you stupid assholes have constructed a society where there is negative incentive for me to try to improve the world.
So nah. Nevermind. The world can go to shit. I'm going to take care of me and mine. You can be the hero. Enjoy.
I suppose I may continue commenting from the sidelines. That's as far as I'll be going though. Just don't count on it or rely on me to support you when you are doing vigilante shit. Nah. I'll toss you under the bus even if you are doing the right thing. For my own benefit. Enjoy life as a pancake.
