Cough up the USB4

USB4 is essentially the same as Thunderbolt 3, but freed from most of the propretiary restrictions. Which should mean that we'll see many cheap(er) implementations of it compared to TB3.

One of the annoying things about TB3 was that all the PCIE cards adding it to systems had to ( unless you hacked them ) go in a system with a special 5+ pin tb3 connector. Supposedly that connector is needed to send sleep/wake and other random crap over to the card.

The thing is, people figured out how to make some of the cards work without that cable, making them work in any system. Good luck though making your own card do that. It's not exactly well known.

So, you'd think that the geniuses pushing the next fucking major version of ubiquitous USB4 would make it easy to fucking add to systems by just giving us a USB4 card we could stuff in any ol' PCIE slot.

Nope.

WTF dudes.

Cough up the USB4 PCIe cards.

AI says "welll accctthually USB4 is only most of the TB3 stuff not all of it".

Hey AI, Nobody fucking cares.
